Phewee! Chance to breathe. Last couple of days has just been catching up on sleep and fixing the short circuits in my brain.

Monday was out deadline. We made it on the minute exactly. Submissions are supposed to be made by 4:30pm and the last member of our group got stamped at 16:30 exactly. Sunday and Monday was a complete fiasco. We were using After Effects for editing and only two of our laptops had the program. I managed to get my shots done fairly easily on the Sunday, but not everyone else was so lucky. Some shots were still being edited into Tiff. sequences Monday morning, and I was pulling my hair out trying to get shots in order and add sound. Once we got the ball rolling it went quite well. Mostly.

Some of the BS and ineptitude you get out of people is incredible. One guy 'lost' a load of his colour animation. He'd barely done half the shots that had been assigned to him. He barely followed the storyboard so the continuity look stupid. Some people just didn't pay attention to the turn arounds. It wasn't even stylistic difference, they just changed the character.

A couple of things got screwed up because of generally bad organisation, but we got it done in the end. And it was nice to finally see it all put together. It just a shame we didn't have enough to finish it properly. I didn't even have time to finish all the shots I'd assigned myself, but 4 out of 5 wasn't bad

The only thing I didn't have time to do was the shot directly after, "Hey... ladies..."
I really wish we had a proper voice actor for Big B. That voice just ruins his character. Most annoying. I am surprised though that my voice doesn't make me crinch every time I hear it though.

But at least it's out of the way now. Now I'm helping out with a project our tutor's doing about a typical english seaside. Lol, and believe I am an expert on it *shudders*

It seems like New York was a lifetime ago now. It was absolutely awsome though my damn foot was killing me most of the time. And our hotel was foolishly round the corner from a dunkin' donuts.

We went to the Met, the Guggenheim, The Natural History museum, went up to the top of Empire State (boy was that crowded), went on a cruise and saw the Statue of Liberty, looked around Time Square, got lost on the subway a couple of times and of course COMIC CON!!!

Comic Con was amazing though I think a lot of time was wasted through in decisiveness. There were certain things I just didn't get round to because other people weren't as interested. But I did see a lot of Stan. In fact most of my video footage is devoted to Stan. I am so glad I wasn't the only who took a video camera with me, lol. But the best bit: I got Stan Lee's autograph!!!!!!!!!!

I was so damn lucky. I entered a caption contest on the Friday, not thinking much of it. It was a picture of Obama with his hands by his head and I wrote, "If I get elected I'm gonna grow an afro right out to here!" Then the next morning was the queue to get autographs, but it's first come first serve to get certain people, Stan Lee included. I also wanted to try and get Frank Miller's autograpgh for my brother but no dice.

Then on the Sunday morning they announced the caption winners and the afro joke was one of them! After Stan's talk I went upto his assistant/P.A. type guy to see if it actually was my caption or if someone else had entered the smae joke first. And apparently there were a lot of afro jokes . But it was mine!!! :excited: Once I got my prize ( a signed copy of Election Daze) I was still standing by the stage as Stan was leaving so I got to shake his hand as he walked past!

So yes it was a rather awesome week.

Ignorance is bliss
I noticed with the animation that we left out the 3rd part of the lovebirds dialogue, you saying "well maybe if we pulled over for directions blah blah"...

--
"Is it that show about the little girl that wanders around the jungle without any adult supervision, averting crises and conversing with wild animals with the aid of her foreign-language-speaking monkey?"
Yeah, I noticed that too. I'm pretending that I didn't notice. I must have got distracted by the lack of animation and just skipped to editing the next shot :(

I shout if I'm right
I cry if I'm betrayed
I fight if there is something to protect
:jedi:

Emily: Kiya! The council of Necromancers want to speak with you!
Kiya: Over my dead body!
Emily: Funny you should mention that...
It was SO cool!
